Lake Markham is a writer and photographer based in Chicago, Illinois. He is the author of the 2021 novella, Shooting the Messenger, and the 2024 photo zine, hyperreal texas, both out of print. 

Most recently, Lake has been at work on a full-length Western novel, Lo Siento, out with Apocalypse Confidential on October 21, 2025. He has since settled his debts with the Lone Star State.
